Prepare yourselves, Captains!!
The Forsaken Arena Tournament will begin at 9AM PDT, Thursday March 26th. The tournament will end on Monday, March 29th at 1PM PDT! Prize Redemption will remain open until March 30th, 1PM PDT.
This month’s Forsaken Arena Tournament will utilize two different ways to earn prizes.
How to join
You will be able to participate in the tournament so long as you’ve completed your 10 Ranking placement matches and have earned a Combat Rating. On the day the tournament begins, 10% of your Combat Rating will be converted into Tournament Points and you will be placed into a 250 person prize bracket. Players will be placed in one of two brackets, depending on their combat rating once the tournament begins. Captains with higher combat ratings will be placed into the Elite bracket of the Tournament. Players below Captain rank will be placed into the Normalbracket. Your combat rating will not change during the Tournament.
How to earn points
To gain points and advance through your bracket, you’ll need to complete Forsaken Arena matches. For your convenience, we have reduced the queue time of the Forsaken Arena Tournament so you can get into the match and start earning points.
Standard Matchmaking rules will apply; therefore, you will only be matched up against players who are +/- 300 your combat rating and within your bracket. To help clarify the rank of the player you are fighting against, we’ve removed the fleet level in favor of displaying the player’s Combat Rating instead.
Players may purchase Repair Insurance by spending Uranium, which will guarantee that you will not have to spend gold to repair your fleets for 3 matches. Winning a match with Repair Insurance active will return a portion of the Uranium spent to the player. 10% of Uranium Repair Insurance investment gets put into the Uranium pot on a loss.
In addition to normal Repair Insurance, players can take advantage of the Free Match of the Day. The first match a player plays is guaranteed full repair at no cost. This free repair may only be used once per day and resets once every 24 hours after it’s been used.
Points are awarded based on fleet damage. Therefore, if you deal 100% damage to your enemy, you will earn 100 points. If your enemy deals 50% damage to you, they will earn 50 points, etc. The ratio for damage percentage to points earned is 1:1. This encourages you to participate often in order to earn as many points as possible during the tournament.
A UI indicator is in place to let players know when they have taken over 75% damage. Players may opt to Self-Destruct during a match, however, Self-Destructing will cause 100% damage to your ships and end the match. Your opponent will earn 100 points for the kill and start a kill streak for them. Be sure you’re absolutely willing to take the loss before pushing this button!
The Self Destruct button will be on a cooldown, similar to the Retreat button. Once active, button is red. Clicking this button prompts a confirmation modal.
Like previous tournaments, crushing your opponents two times in a row or more will start a kill streak. Kill streaks will reward bonus points for every kill beyond the first. This means the more kills in a row, the higher the payout will be!
The total points for these killstreaks are:
First Killstreak: 100
Second Killstreak: 125
Third Killstreak and beyond: 150
